In almost 70 years of playing I have learned countless pieces both classical and jazz, played in restaurants, performed chamber music, and been the rehearsal/orchestral pianist for around 25 high school musical theater productions. 3 (G-flat major)Īfter skipping a piano recital this year, my teacher really wants me to participate in 2023. another Bach Prelude and Fugue from WTC another Chopin Nocturne or my first Chopin Mazurka another Chopin Etude, maybe two, hopefully from Op. I think my goal for 2023 will looking something like this: New Pieces learned in 2022, apparently no substantial piece: Before planning for 2023, I think it'll help if I reflect on 2022. I'm glad for this post because otherwise I wouldn't stop to think/plan for what I want to do with piano. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2023! My friend think that I would need a real piano and not a digital one, but I am not so sure, there are so good digital instruments on the market and I have lots of VST-s which I would like to use as well. My Korg EC-310 digital piano is very old from 1998 and needs some repair, or I could buy a new digital or upright piano. On youtube I found a wonderful recording from Yuki Osaki and Mayu Wakakuwa. I would like to play more fourhand pieces with my pianist-composer friend, he decided for Diabelli melodic pieces, but I found an interesting piece the 3rd movement from Brahms 3rd Symphony in Robert Keller transcription, where at some places you have to play the primo between the two hands of the secondo, which is so unsual for me. Maybe he could teach me and give some advices. This composition was at the height of his career. My pianist-composer friend composed 26 little pieces for beginners in 1976 and I would like to record all of them. After Bartók I always have some Hungarian contemporary composer. After the Debussy I always have some Bartók, my teacher recommended some time ago to study the Suite, but if it would be too difficult we could continue with Mikrocosmos advanced books, from Children series, or some another piecees. We couldn't start with the piece, although I had to buy the score back in July, because I can't play many pieces at the same time and my last Schubert was so long and difficult I couldn't record it just yesterday, so it lasted 9 month since middle of march to learn and in the new year we can begin with the new piece. I would like to record Debussy 1st Arabesque.
